I’ll take my coffee with a side of moisturizer please.

Wait, what?

Did that get your attention? Cool.

Welcome to my new blog.

Today I am reviewing the Origins GinZing Collection which I received in a VoxBox, courtesy of Influenster and Origins. Shoutout to Sephora for the pro tips as well.

The key ingredient in these products is… *drumroll*… COFFEE!

Before you say, “WAIT, I don’t want my actual face to smell like coffee”… it won’t. It smells WONDERFUL. It also has grapefruit, lemon, and spearmint which contribute to its scent and its energizing effect.

Let’s take a closer look at each product.

1) Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser

At first glance, this product seemed similar to Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub which I’ve tried before and liked. Specifically I liked the grapefruit scent and its energizing effect, so afterwards I tried Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub which is known for its natural ingredients.

Speaking of which, I like that Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser contains so many natural ingredients. It’s also free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

The exfoliating beads aren’t rough or harsh. After using this formula for a few days, I noticed that my skin is brighter and smoother. I absolutely love this product and will continue to use it.

One “con” is that my face gets dry after I wash it, but I have oily-combination skin so this is more typical than not. To combat this I follow up with moisturizer as soon as I can.

PRO TIP: To increase exfoliation, leave on skin for one minute without scrubbing.

2) Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff

Let’s face it: we’re not getting any younger. Firming products are a MUST and this product uses natural ingredients as an antioxidant to do just that.

The dark circles under my eye obviously didn’t disappear overnight, but I have noticed that they are getting lighter over time. My eyes are visibly less puffy and more awake. Instead of dullness, I have a youthful glow. The subtle shimmer in the formula helps add to the glowing effect too.

This product combined with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer is a match made in cosmetic heaven.

PRO TIP: Gently dab around eye area with ring finger in the AM or as needed.

3) Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer

This is a lightweight, gel-based (note: oil-free!) cream that instantly hydrates and revitalizes skin. Gel-based moisturizers work great on oily and acne-prone skin like mine.

I’ve used it every morning and evening for a few days and I like it so far. I like that the formula smells great and is innovative (I mean, coffee, of all things).

For sensitive skin I would recommend testing the formula on a small area first to see how your skin will react, just to be on the safe side. Around my time of month, I noticed some breakouts, so I used the cleanser and eye cream without the moisturizer and they cleared up! I used serum instead of the moisturizer for hydration after cleansing. For both acne-prone skin and/or sensitive skin, I would suggest requesting a sample at Sephora first, which are free even without purchase.

Overall, I have noticed that the cleanser has dramatically reduced my breakouts along with brightening my face, so I think this collection is worth the investment. “WAKE UP! Origins GinZing Collection” is perfect for my morning routine. I would recommend this, especially if you’re NOT a morning person like me.

    • I have oily-combo skin too! I would try a sample of the moisturizer at Sephora first and make sure it doesn’t break out your skin. Depending on the time of month, I can be very acne-prone and I switch from moisturizers to serums instead. While at Sephora, you can try sampling Caudalie skincare which is great for oily-combo skin as well 🙂

I’m not really a morning person and these seem like perfect products for me. I would love to try the under eye cream as that’s a pain for me. Love the presentation and the cute little boxes.

    • Thank you so much! And yes, I would definitely pick up a sample at Sephora to make sure it doesn’t break out your skin because I am acne-prone as well! I tend to get breakouts more during a certain time of month and at that point, I switch from moisturizers to serums for hydration 🙂
