I started getting chronic migraines a few years ago. I’ve tried several preventative and acute pharmaceutical medications, but most come with side effects. Because of this I have been looking into more natural ways of relieving the debilitating pain that inevitably happens.
Meditation, yoga stretches, vitamins, and essential oils. It’s not an instant cure but it does help A LOT. I am slowly but surely making lifestyle changes to be a better, healthier me.
I’ve tried some basic essential oils already–lavender, peppermint oil, eucalyptus–using them occasionally to ease aches and nausea. Which essential oils do you use?
Most recently, I purchased the necklace featured above at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KHOKFSK, making it convenient to wear essential oils all day. It’s basically a portable mini-diffuser. You just add a few drops of your favorite essential oil(s) into it and you’re ready to go! What would you wear with it?
I’m so excited to wear this necklace as part of my wellness journey. I plan on accessorizing my yoga outfits with it, which is a lot, because I practically live in yoga pants. The necklace comes with 8 colorful refill pads so you can match it with different outfits. It comes in a cute pouch too, making it easy to give as a present. It’s back-to-school season and you probably know someone who can use a little aromatherapy stress relief in their life. I know I can.
Do you have any advice about migraines or aromatherapy in general? Would love to hear your stories too!
Follow me on Instagram @ExploreBeautyXO to see other accessories I got from the same seller (owl earrings, leaf earrings, chakra necklace). I’m currently following back, and subbing back, on all social media—links are on my home page or in my Insta bio.
Disclaimer: I tried the items mentioned above through Tomoson and purchased these items at a discount in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
I love the idea of having an oil diffuser you can wear. Migraines are the worst. So glad you can find some relief.

I get really bad headaches all the time and even though I have essential oils for my diffuser, I never really thought about other ways to use them. Stretching and working out really help with my tension headaches, though, which is great!

Yes working out definitely helps! I think because tension headaches are usually stress-related. Feel free to share any workout tips you find helpful too 🙂

I also tend to live in yoga pants! Best outfit there is! Oils have really helped with my migraines. I would be so curious how the necklace turns out. It’s something I’ve been debating.

Yoga pants are THE best and so comfy! Any oil blends you recommend? I have a starter set on the way (orange, tea tree, frankincense, lemongrass, rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint) but am still figuring out how to mix them

Oils are perfect for helping you relax, but I’m not sure about any specific ones that deal with migraine. I think the necklace is a great idea, for sure!

Thanks! They are very relaxing. If I can fall asleep there’s usually a chance the migraine will be gone (or at least tolerable at the moment)

I’ve never had a migraine so I definitely feel for those who do. Even though I don’t, I think an aromatherapy necklace is a GREAT idea for those who do OR don’t suffer from migraines. I would love to have a nice subtle scent following me around!

It can help the migraine from becoming full-blown sometimes or at least until the acute medication kicks in! Let me know if you find anything else that works too 🙂

I actually just found out today that there’s a fitness bracelet too! If I’m able to try it, I will update! I think it’s great for carrying scents that are lighter than perfumes and also have health benefits

I’ve been dealing with migraines from the age of 18 and honestly the best thing I’ve found is lavender. I have a lavender eye pillow that I use when I feel one coming on. I practice deep breathing and sometimes try to nap with it on and that usually helps.
I’ve never heard of that necklace before but it sounds interesting. You’ll have to let us know if it helps!

Young Living has an oil called M-grain, it works well. Also peppermint and lavender rubbed on your temples, behind ears, and on the back of your neck helps me.
I have suffered from migraines since I was 5. These oils don’t work miracles and the migraine is magically gone, but it does bring it down to a manageable level.
